I’m glad to see each of you this morning. If you are visiting, thanks so much for being here. We invite you to connect with us by texting us your contact information at 913 369 4450.

We have a prayer meeting tonight at 5 p.m. in the Train Station. We are in days of spiritual emergency so I hope to see you there. God often chooses to work through human agency and one of those primary ways is prayer.

I again want to thank each of you who served in the Community Carnival last week. I think we took a significant step forward as a church. I also think it will prove to be the most impactful outreach we’ve done since I’ve been the pastor of this church. You continue to bless the community by serving our elementary school, providing a temporary place for the school’s administrative offices at no charge, distributing free donuts each Tuesday, and other things. And we do it because Jesus is worth it. And it will bear fruit. You are a faithful church and I am grateful for you.

We are making several changes to clear clutter and spruce things up. You’ll find bulletins on a table as you enter the worship center. We are cleaning up the foyer and will make some cosmetic changes soon. We want to make everything as visitor-friendly as possible so we will increase our signage. As we move forward, we want to continue with an outward focus. Our spending priorities, our planned activities, and our energies need to be directed toward showing Jesus to our community. Nothing is more important than spreading the gospel!

We want to raise the spiritual temperature in our worship service. Sundays are a wonderful time of fellowship. We need the company of the saints after a hard week in a lost world. When it’s time for our worship service, we want to focus on Jesus. Please share the Facebook or YouTube Livestream on your phone and then, unless you are using a Bible app, please put your phone away. Let’s give the Lord our full attention in singing, praying, giving, and preaching. He is worthy! Isaiah 25:1 says, “ O LORD, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name; For You have worked wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness.” And as you worship, remember that God loves you not because of what you do. He loves you because of who He is. That makes me want to worship and revere Him all that more!

We also encourage you to read the bulletin each week. Communication is crucial in a church. However, communication is more difficult than ever because of “communication fragmentation” (mail, email, calls, texts, Messenger, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, etc.) Our bulletin is the best way to communicate to all age groups. We email it to you on Friday before Sunday service. It’s always available on our website under the “Resources” tab. Please take a look at it each week. We value you, and love you and therefore, want you to be informed.
