I’m glad you navigated the parking lot this morning! Water issues were discovered under the asphalt. They filled those areas with rock. Those areas needed to dry out but then came the rain. So the company has been delayed in the repaving work. Hopefully, it will be done by next week.
Today we start a series entitled “Divine Providence.” We’ll spend a few months discovering what God has for us in the life of Joseph in Genesis 37-50. You’ll find Jesus there. You’ll find the gospel there. You’ll find many life lessons there. I’ve been energized by studying for this series. I am trusting God will be glorified, and you will be blessed.
Today I pivot from preaching from the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) to the New American Standard Bible (1995.) I switched to the CSB a few years ago with the goal of better readability. However, I have gravitated back to the NASB because it is the closest to the original text. I feel I serve you best by preaching from the NASB. If you bought a CSB, it’s still a very good translation. I use it often, in my study, and in my own devotional times. If you want to buy a NASB, be sure to buy the 1995 edition.
Pastor Nathan is on vacation until the middle of next week. Thanks to Jack Belcher for leading our music this morning. He always blesses us with his gifts, as do the rest of the Praise Team and the Media Team in the sound booth.
I’m looking forward to being at the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting on Nov. 20. If you would be willing to help that afternoon/evening, please let me know. Nathan will be at a Student Ministry event. We will need help with event preparation, making drinks, setting up and taking down the tent, and other items. I’ll set up a meeting soon with those willing to help. I am looking for 8 people to help. We want to make our community a better place by publicly representing Jesus!
