Welcome to West Haven on this Lord’s Day! Corporate worship is designed to put on display the glory of God. As God’s glory is illuminated, through His Word, the church delights to diligently serve Him and obey all of His commands. This week, I have prayed that God would allow us to see a glimpse of his glory as we worship today. Would you pray that with me?
I hope you had a blessed week as you celebrated Thanksgiving! I have many things to be thankful for; one of which is all of you! It is a joy to pastor this church and to serve Jesus with you. If you are visiting with us today, I am thankful you have joined us. I am thankful for the gift of my salvation; the forgiveness of sins, the purifying and ongoing work of the indwelling Holy Spirit, and the hope of eternal life when all the saints will behold Jesus face-to-face. Come, Lord Jesus, come!
Today, we turn in our Bibles to a fascinating text found in Hebrews 12. In this text, the author of Hebrews compares/contrasts Israel’s assembling before God’s presence at Mount Sinai with the church assembling in God’s presence at Mount Zion. It’s a wonderful, hope-filled, glory-displaying text that I pray will cause us to love God more deeply and serve Him more faithfully.
Please keep January 15th on your calendar. We will have a Missions Fair immediately after church, with lunch included. Confirmed so far are Vision 3:16, Insight Women’s Center, the North American Mission Board, the Kansas City Kansas Baptist Association, and CASA of Leavenworth County. Other ministries have been invited and we expect the list of participating organization to grow!
