I’m glad you are here on what promises to be a good day! If you are visiting with us, it is a privilege to have you. My prayer is that you will be blessed this morning.
Please welcome Larry Merry, and Jiovani Inocente to West Haven today. Larry is a retired Ameren/UE executive. He now runs Vision 3:16, an eyeglass ministry that operates primarily in Mexico. He will lead us on a Mission Trip to LaRaya, Soyaltepec, Mexico on Aug. 8-15, 2023. Jiovani received a pair of glasses from Vision 3:16. We will hear from both of them about that ministry this morning. I hope you will pray about going to Mexico next summer!
Tonight is our annual Thanksgiving Dinner at 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall, in the lower level. If you are new to West Haven in this last year, this is a good time of fellowship! Bring friends. Bring family. We always have plenty of food. I hope to see you!
At 4:30 this afternoon is our annual budget hearing in the classroom adjacent to the foyer. Our Stewardship Team will be there to answer any questions about our proposed 2023 budget.
Thank you for your continued ministry to our community! Last night was the Mayor’s Christmas Tree lighting. People are always blessed by that. This week, we participated in Dad’s and Donuts at Tonganoxie Elementary School. That is a great ministry that allows us to bless the school and the children. We want to continue to do good works in the name of Jesus, loving our neighbor as ourselves. Thanks for doing exactly that!
As we look ahead, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are both on a Sunday. We will have our usual service at 10 a.m. with no Sunday School or Adult Bible Fellowship. However, there will be nursery and Children’s Church as usual.
Please keep Jan. 15 on your calendar. We will have a Missions Fair immediately after church, with lunch included. Confirmed so far are Vision 3:16, Insight Women’s Center, the North American Mission Board, the Kansas City Kansas Baptist Association, and CASA of Leavenworth County. Several other ministries have been invited. We expect to see this list grow by quite a bit!
