We are hopefully working toward a post-COVID-19 era, in the sense that it will no longer have a significant effect on the way we live our lives. (In the meantime, we will still take the precautions we are currently taking, i.e. opening west windows, putting the furnaces on “circulate”, and running ceiling fans.) These past 12 months have pulled us forward into an era of rapid change. I am praying that many people will be shaken out of spiritual lethargy by the events of our day and come to Jesus in saving faith.
I sense a new mentality and a bright future ahead for our church. God is moving in the lives of many people. Our numbers are ticking upward. We’ve had several visitors lately. Be sure and welcome them. Pastor Nathan is doing a great job leading music and Student Ministry, as well as handling other details. We have an open-handed mentality toward our community. You’ve continued to give generously. Our building loan is coming very close to be paid off. We helped replant Linwood Baptist Church. We sponsored over 50 children through Compassion International. We launched a new website, remodeled the worship center, took 130+ thank you bags to Tonganoxie Elementary School, and improved our livestream. We continued with AWANA and Student Ministry. God did all that through us during a COVID-19 time. Also, we did something that many churches didn’t do. We didn’t fight over masks and lockdowns. I praise God for all of this.
Who do you know that you haven’t seen at church recently? Yes, they may be going to the service you don’t attend but check on them anyway. We still have a number of people who aren’t back. We don’t want to leave anyone behind on where God is going to take us in the future! Be an encourager today!
