Good morning church! Lord bless you as you celebrate our nation’s independence tomorrow. In fact, by far the number one thing I hear from you is the state of our nation. Like me, you are frustrated, baffled, and disheartened. So I am jumping out of our “Divine Providence” series to preach a sermon from 1 Kings 16 entitled “When A Nation Decays.” The Bible always speaks to our real-life situations. I hope this passage will encourage you to live a holy life, fervent in spirit, and rejoicing in hope!
Thanks for attending the “Value Them Both” Amendment meeting last Sunday. Something I learned was that the Kansas Supreme Court eliminated the legal foundation for all existing laws that permit basic regulations on abortion. So VTB is a bi-partisan effort to change that. It took two-thirds of both the Kansas Senate and House to advance this amendment to the ballot. In the light of God’s blessing in overturning Roe v. Wade, I am praying for God’s favor on this amendment. Much more information can be found at valuethemboth.com.
Many of you know my son David Bronson, his wife Margaret, and their four children. David was on staff here from January 2010 to September 2013. He is resigning as Student Pastor at Concord Baptist Church in Jefferson City, Mo. as they move to Pennsylvania. (Unfortunately, they are TAKING OUR GRANDKIDS WITH THEM!) They will be with us for worship on July 10, 17, and the 24th. So I’ve asked David to preach on the 10th and the 24th. I can assure you that you will be blessed!
USD 464 will be moving their administrative offices out of our building at the end of July. Christina and Nathan will be moving their offices back to that area. It’s been a privilege to serve them. We want to love our community in tangible ways as God opens doors.
Lord bless you today as we gather to worship our King!
