Good morning! The plan a few weeks ago was to have my son David in the pulpit today. However, he and his wife Margaret came down with COVID this week so you are stuck with me! I thank you for praying for them as they move to Pennsylvania at the end of the month. Pray for Tara and me because they are taking our grandkids with them!

Today, I want you to find 1 Kings 18. I put this sermon together this week when I learned that David had COVID. It mostly comes from my recent quiet times in 1 Kings. I’m calling it “The Restoration Of A Weary Believer.” Those who extend themselves in serving Jesus will eventually run into disappointment. That’s what happened to Elijah. So God took steps to gently restore him, and He does the same in our lives. I hope you’ll be encouraged by the Word this morning. Today will be a good day.

Please note elsewhere in the bulletin that we are proposing changes to our Policies and Procedures Manual at next week’s Members’ Meeting. Most of the changes are cleaning up unnecessary verbiage. More information is in the bulletin announcement.

A month from now, our fall ministries begin. Would you pray with me in earnest for AWANA and Student Ministry? We want to see God move in great ways as you seek to put the Word of God in the hearts of boys and girls! And our Community Carnival at Tongie Days is in less than two months. Would you pray with me in earnest for that as well?

Thanks for your faithfulness! I pray that God would richly bless you!
