Welcome to another blessed Sunday at West Haven! A special welcome goes out to our visitors today. We are grateful that you have chosen to worship with us. Corporate Worship is designed to draw us closer to God, build our faith, and equip us for the battles we face in this world. Today’s sermon, titled “The Battle For Your Soul,” will remind us of the words from 1 Peter 2:9-12, where we are called “a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession.” As we engage in worship, let us remember that God has set us apart for a purpose – to proclaim His excellencies and shine His light in a darkened world.
We are excited to share that our team will soon be embarking on a mission trip to Soyaltepec, Mexico, in partnership with Vision 3:16. From August 8th to 15th, we will conduct an eyeglass and medical clinic, reaching out to those in need and offering them the love of Christ through meeting the physical needs of better vision and health. As we prepare for this journey, faithfully pray, asking God to guide our team so that our efforts may be a source of healing and hope to the people we serve.
This past Tuesday, we had the wonderful opportunity to join hands with Life 88.5 and the Tonganoxie Police Department for the “Snow Cone With A Cop” event at Gallagher Park. It was a fantastic community gathering, and we are grateful to everyone from West Haven who came out and served at this event. Such initiatives remind us of the importance of being actively engaged in our community and showing God’s love through our actions.
Over the past five weeks, we have been blessed to have the Joshua Project guys here, guiding us through a powerful series exploring creation, the fall, the flood, and the hope we find in Jesus Christ. The feedback we’ve received from this series has been incredibly positive. As we look forward to the final session on Wednesday night, I encourage all of you to join us once again, as we deepen our understanding of God’s redemptive plan and the hope that lies in our Savior.
As we navigate the battles for our souls, both individually and as a community of faith, let us remain steadfast in prayer, devoted to God’s Word, and committed to loving one another as Christ has loved us. May our worship, service, and missions be a testament to the transformative power of God’s grace in our lives.
