Thank you for joining us for corporate worship at West Haven this morning! Corporate worship is designed to clarify your values, confirm your identity, and motivate your living as you focus once again on the person, work and grace of Jesus.  And so thank you for joining us on this Lord’s day, as we seek to make Jesus big (give him glory), not just today, but every day.

Our AWANA Clubs, Student Ministry, and Adult Bible Fellowship are scheduled to resume this Wednesday. I’m so excited to welcome back our students, and I know our AWANA leaders are excited to welcome back our children. Please be in prayer for all of our volunteers as we seek to make Jesus known and see children/students grow in their faith.

In the Student Ministry, we will be walking through the first seven chapters of Daniel. Daniel was a teenager when King Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem, separated Daniel from his family, and sent Daniel (and other young men like him) to the capital city of Babylon. Daniel was never allowed to return home. This book was written to encourage hopeless exiles that, despite how it looks, God is king over all others kings and His kingdom is coming.

We encourage every person to be involved in a Bible Fellowship class. We have Bible Fellowship classes during each of our Sunday morning services. All of the detail on the classes that meet are found in the bulletin. Of new note is that, beginning next  week, Gordon Brest will resume teaching his class during the 10am hour.

We are excited to be partnering with Compassion International. We’ve spoken of this partnership over the past several weeks, and we will discuss further during our Worship Service this Sunday. We’re being partnered with a church in Nicaragua, and we’re planning on holding a “Compassion Sunday” on January 24th. In the meantime, ask God to provide you wisdom on how he might use you to reach the people of Nicaragua.
