I’m glad you are here on this last day of the year, and the last Lord’s Day, to exalt Him!
I hope you had a nice Christmas! My daughter Beth and son-in-law Matt gave me a little gift card-sized box. I assumed it was an Amazon gift card, or something similar. Nope. It was an ultrasound. A July due date. So yeah, Tara and I had a very nice Christmas!
We had an excellent staff planning meeting/semi-retreat on Dec. 20. We have the calendar set for the year. It’s full, but not too full to take advantage of an opportunity God sets before us. Our church has had a mission statement for almost 18 years: We exist to see people saved, lives changed, and Jesus glorified. That has never changed. Everything we do funnels back into that statement!
Nathan will continue today in the series “Jesus’ Parables: Wisdom For Life.” Next week, we start the New Year in a glorious way with two baptisms. And I’ll finish this current series.
Just a heads up: we resume Wednesday night ministries on Jan. 10, not this Wednesday.
We will have a Compassion International Sunday on Feb. 18. There is an opportunity to sponsor 33 children in southern Mexico. We are hoping there is a chance we could meet them on a Vision 3:16 Mission Trip sometime in the next several years. Paul Flewwellin will lead this. We are excited about the opportunity to bless children in other countries and preach the good news to them!
Thanks for being here this morning!
