Merry Christmas to you! We celebrate this time of the year because of the birth of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. John 1:14 puts it this way: “The Word became flesh.” 1 Tim 3:16 puts it this way: “He was manifested in the flesh.” An angel in Luke 2:12 put it this way: “This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” I am so grateful to know that by grace through faith, we can know we have eternal life. Whether you are here for Christmas or you’ll be out of town, on behalf of Tara and myself and the entire West Haven staff, we wish you a Merry Christmas!

Pastor Nathan will be preaching this morning. His sermon is entitled “Eternal God Incarnate” from John 1:1-18. I’ll be preaching on Dec. 26 about Christmas from three texts in the gospels. The sermon is entitled “For Whom Is Christmas “Good News?” (I’ll also be preaching on Jan. 2, a change from what was mentioned here last week.) I trust you’ll be blessed all three Sundays. If you will be gone during Christmas, I hope you can make it to a local church where you are. And you can always watch or listen to the services here.

Our Christmas Eve service will start at 5:30 p.m. We’ll sing Christmas carols, preach God’s Word, and serve hot chocolate. That all sounds good to me! I hope to see you on Christmas Eve. I always greatly enjoy that service!

Nathan is taking this week off. It’s a well-deserved week. Please pray for him, that the Lord would refresh and recharge him. If you need something, contact Christina, Kirk, or me.

As you can see, we are on the cusp of new check-in procedures in our children’s wing. We should be able to get that up and running by the start of the year. We’ll get you ample notice before we start. We are also getting closer to adding two cameras to our Sunday morning live stream. Please pray for us in this regard. We are starting from scratch and we want to do it with “relaxed excellence” because we want to honor Jesus and make Him non-ignorable in Leavenworth County!
