We had a happy discussion in our staff meeting Monday that I want to share with you. I mentioned how blessed we are to serve a church with a servant’s heart. Everyone else agreed wholeheartedly. We have many people serving in various roles. In many churches, it’s the proverbial 20/80 rule, i.e. 20% of the people do 80% of the work. Our ratio is much different. Many of you serve, you do what you can, and some of you wear many hats. We see what you do. We are grateful for what you do. And we are especially grateful for who you are, servants of the Most High God! Thank you!
This morning, we stay in the series “The Parables of Jesus: Wisdom For Life.” Next Sunday morning (Christmas Eve) I’ll preach from Matthew 1. Bring your friends and family both morning and evening. The evening service starts at 5:30 p.m. I will preach a short sermon (15-20 minutes), and it will be evangelistic. It will be a blessed day as we celebrate God becoming human flesh!
Please pray for us as a staff. We are meeting much of the day on Wednesday to map out 2024. This year has been good. I believe 2024 will be just as good, if not better. But we do not want to make plans and ask the Lord to bless them. We pray the Lord would give us His plans, and then as His servants, we carry them out. That is our deep desire.
We have a prayer meeting tonight at 5 p.m. It is in the worship center. We will use the same format as last month. I hope you will join us!
The 2024 budget vote passed 38-2. Thanks for affirming what is a well-crafted budget as we seek to reach people for Jesus!
