Good morning! I’m glad you are with us. If you are visiting today, thanks so much for being here. I hope to meet you afterward!
We will continue in our series in 2 Thessalonians today. Today’s sermon is entitled “Praying Wisely When You Want To Give Up.” We need the encouragement and instruction of God’s Word to stay the course, even when we feel like giving up.
Next week, we will finish the series in 2 Thessalonians. We will also hear some songs from our children who attend Children’s Church. Shelly McGhee does a wonderful job of leading Children’s Church. I look forward to hearing them!
Christmas Eve service is at 5:30 p.m. It will be less than an hour. Bring friends and family. The sermon will contain an evangelistic thrust.
On Christmas Day we worship at 10 a.m. There is no Sunday School. We have limited childcare that day. Bring them anyway! Teach them what’s important about Christmas! We used to have our kids in every worship service during the year. We gave them non-noisy snacks, soft toys, and quiet games. They knew the rules: no noise. If they learned just one thing from that, it was that church was important. As they got older, we rewarded them with certain things if they could tell us something about the sermon. And it was amazing what they picked up. Of course, it went from there but having them in the worship service from Day One was invaluable.
Nathan will preach on New Year’s Day. Again, there is no Sunday School.
Remember our Missions Fair on Jan. 15 and our Job Fair in February. I hope you will pray for both.
God bless you!
