I’m glad to see you this morning as we gather to worship Jesus together. Today I want to address a subject that I’ve conversed with many of you about over the past few years: the “Sinner’s Prayer.” Is it biblical? If not, how do we lead someone to Jesus? On what do we rest our assurance for salvation? We’ll answer those questions and more this morning.

We celebrate two baptisms this morning. It’s a joy to see Jesus working in their lives. Pray with me for them and their families as they not only obey Jesus in baptism but follow Jesus in the days to come. We welcome them and one more new member this morning. Then we have other baptisms and people joining the church in the next few weeks. These are good days!

This is one of the busiest times of the year for us. For example:

Nathan is doing many things behind the scenes (repairing/upgrading our network, transitioning to Church Center, working with me on outreach ideas and details) in addition to preparing for Student Ministry. AWANA workers are preparing and training for the year. We want to strengthen both of these ministries. We’ll advertise both on social media. Please invite students and children and their parents! Also, I will teach through the book of Luke on Wednesday nights. I hope all of you will join us by serving in a ministry or attending Bible study!

I’ve been connecting with Tonganoxie Elementary School and Tonganoxie High School for the new year. We are investigating a number of possibilities in ministering to and through TES, and I hope to know more about THS soon. Several of our ladies are assembling Welcome Bags for every employee at TES. Thanks to Jenny Slusser for leading that!

We are in contact with an architect, pursuing a drawing and a cost estimate for renovating our children’s area. I think that is going to be a slow process but I want to keep you posted.

I met with USD 464 Superintendent Loren Feldkamp and Assistant Superintendent Tonya Phillips this week. They want to thank each of you for your incredible generosity and hospitality in hosting the USD 464 administrative office for the past two years. We’ll be recognized when they hold the Grand Opening of the new school.

More to come! Lord bless you today!
