Welcome to West Haven on this glorious Easter Sunday!  If this is your first time here or you seldom attend, welcome! We are glad you are here.

What is the meaning of Easter? It is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus!

Jesus is the eternal God. He relinquished His rights as deity, and came to us as a babe in a manger. He came to seek and to save that which was lost. He went about preaching the gospel. He preached as One with authority. Yet He also performed signs, wonders, and miracles. And He never sinned, not once, in word, thought, or deed. He was fully man yet fully God.

In the fullness of time, He voluntarily surrendered His life. He was seized in Gethsemane. He was mocked, scorned, beaten, and flogged. Then He was crucified. On the cross, He endured God’s righteous wrath for our sins. He paid the full and complete penalty for our sins. Then He died.

He was buried in a borrowed tomb. It was sealed. Roman soldiers guarded it. However, on the third day, Jesus arose from that tomb! In so doing, He defeated sin and conquered death. He appeared to many witnesses. He ascended to heaven. Today He reigns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords! And He will come back some day in glory!

I hope this gives you a renewed hope, and a peace about your security. He is risen. If you are in Him, you will rise too!

We are hosting an eyeglass clinic with Focus on Missions on May 6. Help us spread the word! This will not be a large clinic. But we want to bless those in need in the name of Jesus! I also hope that if you’ve never seen an eyeglass clinic, you’ll come. This is what our Mexico Mission Team will be doing this summer. If you want to give to offset the cost of those going to Mexico, just write “Vision 3:16” on the memo line of your check.

Lord bless you!
